Founded in 1977 by Barbara Aiello, The Kids On The Block puppet program was formed to introduce young audiences to the topic of children with disabilities. Since then the goals and programs of The Kids on the Block have evolved and broadened to emcompass a wide spectrum of individual differences and social concerns. The Nebraska State Elks Association currently runs the Kids on the Block puppet program. These books can be used as a supplement to that program or can stand alone in providing disability awareness to children across the State.
