A comprehensive guide that provides instructors with the framework to teach career education along with their core curriculum with minimal time, planning and resources. Each section is devoted to one grade and provides a developmentally appropriate grade level career curriculum that includes planning and preparation guides, checklists, pre and post-surveys, lesson plans, activity masters, and parent letters. 30 minute lessons are introduced at each grade level, making career education a reality for educators with limited instructional time. Useful for developing career awareness in elementary students, this book lists over 100 jobs, offering a short description, a list of school subjects important for the career, and attributes about the career. In addition, jobs are grouped into career clusters and assigned a cluster icon so that students can thumb through and easily find jobs that fit into specific industries. Eight volumes provide up-to-date information on more than 700 occupations, ranging from accountants and actors to writers and zoologists. Each photo-illustrated two-page entry describes what workers do in a particular job, the schooling and skills required to perform it, typical earnings for the job, employment outlook and sources for more information. Descriptions of the U.S. Department of Education's career clusters help students determine what kinds of jobs are of most interest to them. Set of 8 hardbacks, approximately 200 pages each.
